PC Zombies spawning on base.

I'm new here and have what is likely a stupid question. I built a base that with somewhat extreme elevation. Recently, I expanded bringing another large plot to the same elevation. To accomplish this, I built 4 concrete walls and then filled it in with topsoil. A zombie seems to have spawned in at the top of this part of this base. If I were to put a layer of blocks or farm plot blocks. over this topsoil, would it prevent zombies from spawning in this area? I do have a claim block and have never had a problem with zombies spawning in the base, however, the new section falls outside of the claim block area and it's not a complete surprise that a zombie spawned here.

I have a solution; I'm just looking for a better solution.

Welcome to the forum :)

Yeh, you got it spot on; zeds can spawn on any terrain blocks (dirt, stone, asphalt, etc). If you cover it with non-terrain, you'll prevent spawns. You can also make more land claims to cover it - if capped (3 by default) already, raise the number in settings.

Just to note....

LCB will prevent POI sleeper spawns. (Assuming you cleared all of the zones before putting it down.)

Bedroll will stop POI sleeper spawns and random biome spawns.

They do not block Wandering hordes, Scout hordes, or Bloodmoon hordes.

Bah, I think I've been corrected on that before. The testing just sounds so tedious that I've not gotten around to it ..

Thanks for the correction; I'm almost sure I'll forget again thou :D
