PC Zombie spawn in base.

I’ve been having a problem with zombies spawning in my base. My base is surrounded by 2 concrete walls 4 vault doors and a drawbridge but I’ve had zombies spawn right next to me while I’m in my forge. Even had a feral spawn inside my walls and kill me from behind. Has anybody else had a similar problem? If so how do I solve this?

 
If you have a large base, possibly in a large poi, zombies spawning inside is a potential issue. I believe 8 blocks from a bedroll is all you get as a safety net. That said I’ve never been Plagued by zombie spawns inside a player built base until this recent patch. We built a base with 4 homes and concrete wall around it. I didn’t have my sleeping bag in my house yet as we were moving bases. Went inside on my lower level ( see where this is going..) and heard a zombie. I was like damn another wandering horde at the walls. I look, no horde. I hear a crash. There’s a zombie nurse waving outside my window on the upper floor. Apparently it was a party

With the latest patching ive been running into ferals around caves. It’s happened about 4 times both in local and mp games. Weirdest thing. First time was on day 14 and I about crapped my pants because they apparently run now lol.

I can’t imagine a feral spawning next to me in my forge room.

Try placing your bedroll in the middle of your base and see if it makes a difference.

Was it normal spawning or a screamer spawn? If a screamer, these can spawn inside your base if the spawn radius passes through your base. Happened to me with a very large compound base and had to fight a feral.

 
This sounds terrifying..... I can't even imagine. Making a note to spread out our bedrolls around the base.....

 
It wasn’t a screamer, the screamer was outside of my walls in the middle of the day, I was ignoring it so I could get some ♥♥♥♥ done then I start getting hit and stunned while using my forge I turn around and there’s a feral right there. Also my forge is about 2 or 3 blocks away from my bedroll and then 2 blocks away from that is my buddies bedroll so I don’t think the bedrolls really matter.

 
One time me and my friends dug up an entire grave yard. Replaced the whole thing with a cobblestone floor. They still spawned inside.

One time a was running from a horde, so I was like I'll hide in there. Bad idea cause there was another horde in there too.

If that was your active bedroll I’d report it as a bug. Each time the zombies appeared was there a screamer around?

Zombies can spawn on any blocks except fertile dirt, according to SylenThunder.
