What is it with some of these POIs???

Uggh some of them are so needlessly complicated. A quest isn't fun when it takes forever because it's so hard to figure out where you need to go.

7 Days Suites got me ■■■■ed up bro where am I supposed to go here lol

Yes, 7 Days Suites is one of the places of interest I avoid. Another is the Stand Tower. Fortunately, newer points of interest, such as the two T5 mines, are a bit more straightforward.

Funny how many people complain about the dungeon POIs taking choice/exploration out of the matter, but as soon as a POI doesn't hold your hand all the way through people also complain.

Well that´s probably because it´s not the same people complaining. The player base has people with different taste.

@Gamerdude535 If you ever decide to use the compopack, a mod that adds hundreds of player made POI´s, never go into to the big castles. Every POI from the base game is a walk in the park compared to some castles. Spend two in game days in one to find all rooms.

To be fair, 7 days suites doesn't really offer "choice". There is a very specific path forward, that path just loops on itself after unlocking doors.

It also happens to be one of my favorites T5s. It's linear, but it does a good job of hiding it.

The new mining POIs, hybrid and rockworks, are far more open to divergent paths. You can jump over obstacles and clear the entire POI without missing spawn triggers and without breaking the "planned encounters".

Well, no ■■■■. Haha. Thanks for clearing that up. Great insight as always, pApA.

Just another example of how TFP will never be able to please everyone. If only the everyone would release that and just enjoy the game instead of hanging on every little part they don't like instead of just playing around it.

They don't have to please literally everyone. But there are a sizeable number that weren't happy with 2.0 and game direction. Just because you disagree doesn't make your opinion any more right.

Heh, who said anything about 2.0 specifically? Hanging on to that, I see. I was just referring to people complaining about the POI design. It really isn't that deep though, I just found it amusing how someone was complaining about not knowing where to go in the POI when people are usually complaining about them being too linear.

And what opinion did I put out there with my post? All I said was TFP will never be able to please everyone and that people should understand that. I don't even know if I'd call that an opinion. It's really just a fact.

The opinion that you find it funny; in response to a specific ... "vent of frustration"? What's that, metawhataboutism..? :)

This is a forum where feedback can be posted. I get that you love the game and nothing would make it better, but for the rest of us there are some tweaks that we feel would make the game better and that also doesn't mean we dislike the game as if we did we likely would just move on.

The game overall is very fun and even if they don't implement a single idea of mine I would still play, but I think some of my ideas would be beneficial to the game for many players outside of just what I like so I post my feedback and suggestions. No need to be dismissive.

We offer our opinions here to see if others agree or to give some ideas to TFP going forward. Games are not made in a vacuum and developers get inspiration from players, other games, movies, etc. There is nothing wrong with providing feedback.

If you think something isn't good then criticize the idea rather than rant about how no one can ever be happy which is disingenuous argumentation or how people should just stop "complaining" and just enjoy the game.

If you want to praise everything the game does that is fantastic, but don't be shocked and play victim when people call you out on it.

Being linear and being unclear where to go are not mutually exclusive.
I never said it was, but that's your options. Not sure what's hard to understand there. Do you want an obvious path or do you want a non-dungeon type POI? As TFP moved to mostly dungeon style POIs, people have complained more and more about it. But the OP is complaining they don't know where to go in a POI. Either they hold you hand or you use your brain and explore the whole thing. It's really not that hard. Unclear of where to go? Nope, that's easy. Where haven't you been yet? Done.

Where did I ever say it couldn't be made better? Please, show me. I'll wait. I'm just tired of seeing nothing but nonstop whining and complaining. TFP will make some changes, but the game is what it is for the most part. Learn to like it and enjoy it, or don't. But coming here and crying nonstop and every reply in almost every thread being some substance-less complaint does nothing.

If you have ideas for the game, there's an entire section for that called Pimp Dreams.

There's nothing to offer other than criticize that people will always complain. As I said, the game is what it is. Coming and complaining about something like POIs is like picking up the latest COD and complaining you have to shoot guns. It's just silly and a waste of time.

I never said it was, but that's your options.
I guess I misunderstood your amusement. I believed you found it funny that people were complaining about opposite things. If you acknowledge that its possible to be linear and confusing, I guess I'm not seeing the humor.

Linear does not automatically mean obvious.... and I'm glad you find it easy, but to say that some of the POIs have intended paths that aren't clear isn't a ridiculous statement even if you want to present it as such.

Coming and complaining about something like POIs is like picking up the latest COD and complaining you have to shoot guns.
Coming and offering feedback, however ill thought out it seems to you, is infinitely more valuable than coming here to complain about people who do...

Here's the problem:
In 7d2d zombies are the main attraction and the primary reason for the apocalypse.
When TFP decided to make countless points of interest (POIs) instead of new and compelling zombies along with removing all the assests to make room for the prefabs they changed the game.
Just think about the kind of game we could be playing today if TFP had dedicated the time and effort they invested in POIs to creating numerous new zombies and hordes, rather than just developing new prefabs.

Look ill agree with you that it gets frustrating seeing posts with no substance and seeing criticism with no solutions, but I just want to make sure we all understand not every post is like that.

Also this forum is a "biome dedicated to general discussions and thoughts on 7 Days to Die." per the forum headline itself under general discussion. So posting thoughts on what you think could be better isn't off topic.
Coming and offering feedback, however ill thought out it seems to you, is infinitely more valuable than coming here to complain about people who do...
It comes off as complaining about complaining. And now I am complaining about people complaining on others complaints. This will never end. 😒

Well you started pointing out the obvious, so i just ride along.

So all POIs should be obvious? You don't see the humor here? People wanting that sense of exploration back and all that, but as soon as a POI isn't paint-by-numbers that's a problem. Hilarious.

I'd struggle to call "Uggh some of them are so needlessly complicated." feedback. If clearing a POI that doesn't have flashing signs on where to go is too much of a chore, cancel the quest and go get a different one. Simple. Could've had a new quest completed by the time they got here to post about it.
It comes off as complaining about complaining. And now I am complaining about people complaining on others complaints. This will never end. 😒
Now you're getting it. Lol. It never ends and it's just getting worse.

I don't, because I see options that fall between "obvious" and "confusing". What maybe be obvious for one person, might be just telegraphed enough for someone else, or not clear enough for another. There's nothing wrong with differing opinions and there is nothing wrong with disagreeing or even challenging someone else's opinion. But, I think its important that we not be dismissive of them and I see far too much of that on these boards.
