what is difference between defenseHorde vs feralHorde in entitygroups.xml?

I tried to create a mod in entitygroups file on my server and found 2 entitygroups divided to feralHorde vs defenseHorde

What is the difference? are defenseHorde mean for Blood Moon horde? or feralHorde is enough?

 
feralHorde is for blood moons.  defenseHorde is for the new mission type they are working on (based on what I seen posted in the past).
