First of all, sorry for my English. My native language is Spanish.
Ok, I really like to create content for games, I made some maps for others games. It's something I love. After buying 7D2D I realized there's a "edition tools" and I though I could create a custom map for this game, but the editor system seems kinda basic. I read some tutorials to create maps, but I couldn't make it one yet. Here are some suggestions on what I would like to see on the world editor:
1 - Create the terrain from a heightmap that we could make on a image editor or on some on-line tool like https://terrain.party/ (I found this on a Guppy cur's tutorial and I think it's cool.) We could also create a random terrain like we have right now when we create a random world to play with. But have to be just the terrain.
2 - After the terrain created, we can paint the biomes in the world editor and press a button to create the file "biomes.png".
3 - Then we can draw the roads and like the point 2, we can press a button to create the file "splat3.png"
4 - Poi's, would be grate if there some group of pois we can create on the "level/prefab editor" but can be added to our map randomly like when we create a rw.
5 - About the water. Well, I know water it's kinda tricky on this game so I'm not sure if we can edit or leave that task to the game engine.
To resume, I would like to see an interactive world editor an not much automated one. I think almost everything should be made in game and keep minimal 3rd party software/tools.
If the devs make a better world editor, I think the game will be playable even more that it is now. Because there's a lot of creative ppl that will create amazing maps for people who don't want to install a mod that changes the game radically but want to play on a different map than navezgane or a "broken rw".
This is what I'm thinking. Sorry for my gammatical errors, as I said English is not my native language but Spanish. :smile-new:
