Using rat, I started a new server on one of our desktops with nothing else running on it for some friends 2 hours away.
If they play on our server, they see lag spikes up to 700, making it unplayable.
They started a server up on their end, and we were getting pings to them of only 30... and that's with him streaming twitch, running the server, and playing on his system. (A several years old gaming rig.)
Does anyone have any idea why we would see this? I'd REALLY like to resolve the issue, because he uses kiddie game settings, and we've logged over 1800 hours.
