Hi,
My wife and I enjoy playing games together, and I recently got into this game. My wife is sensitive to human zombies, so I started a game without zombie spawns, and we have enjoyed exploring the world together. However, we noticed that, aside from the occasional wolf, we mostly see bunnies and chickens, and it's not terribly thrilling to explore the world.
I want to host a game where hostile animals (like normal bears, snakes, mountain lions, etc.) still appear so we have something we can team up to take down together. I tried to use the information in this link https://steamcommunity.com/app/251570/discussions/4/2579854400750969096/ to manually edit the XML file, but whenever I start up the game again, it reverts the XML back to the way it was before.
Is there some way to make the change permanent so we can have animals, but not zombies? (even zombie animals would be fine, we just don't want the human ones) Do we have to start a new game world to make it work? Or, outside of editing the XML, is there a mod that I can download that would let me do the same thing?
