PC Vending Machines? Items never sell?

So I rented a vending machine at a trader and have a mix of items added to it, but after 10+ in-game days nothing sells. I've reduced the asking price etc and yes I know about the bug where you have to enter, exit, & re-enter the vending machine.

Any ideas why nothing is selling?

I was under the impression (which may be wrong) that it took a really long time for things to sell in there. Any bugs withstanding, it could just be that not enough time has passed in-game. If that's incorrect, hopefully someone will correct me. :)

 
I tried the vending machines at the trader and the time limit ran out on my rental with nothing sold. I had some iron clubs, iron tools and canned food in there.
