Hello Survivors!

We have V2.5 b20 EXP for you right now.

This update fixes the dreaded bedroll respawn bug where you could be placed off the playable map area and has many other things in it.

We are also testing a fix for an issue where when clients install vehicle storage mods after the vehicle had loot in it, this occasionally results in a deletion of the modded vehicle's storage.

b23 hotfix:

Vehicle storage item deletion was successfully fixed.

here's what changed since b20:

Changed

  • Trader Jen model updated

Fixed
  • Adding a vehicle storage mod removes existing inventory
  • Short animals were not just walking through 1m openings
  • Dogs and wolves were too tall to walk through 1m openings
  • Spawn menu would spawn entities on the player's head if looking downward
  • Honey Glazed Sham and Master Chef causing an empty recipe ingredient

Here's what changed since b18:

  • Adjusted Chuck's movement speeds a little
  • Increased Chuck's boulder pickup animation speed, throw attack start range and AOE damage range
  • Increased the gamestage_modifier of the desert, snow, and wasteland biomes from .5,1,1.5 to 1,2,3
  • Adjusted windowEntering to prevent large POI names from overlapping the tier indicator
  • Player smell to clear from wetness increasing past a threshold so you don't have to be submerged and rain or snow will also clear it
Fixed

  • Spawning on or near your bed when not near the bed could spawn you far from it or up in the air

Bringing back farming and introducing a true hybrid learn-by-reading / learn-by-doing system would complete the experience for me. Reading magazines or schematics should unlock what you can craft, while actually doing the work should improve efficiency, quality, and mastery over time. With jars restored, these are the final legacy mechanics I genuinely miss.

Please add back farming and add a hybrid learn by reading/doing system and you will never hear me complain again, with jars back this is the last two old systems I miss.
The farming on the ground isn't gonna be a thing due to memory issues and limited resources

Im starving and waiting to get my lips on those tasty jars on console

This is the part I struggle to understand. That explanation gets used a lot, but there are major mods—like Darkness Falls and others—that reintroduce ground-based farming and run without noticeable memory or performance issues. If it can function at the mod level, it’s hard to see why it’s technically impossible at the base game level. That makes it feel more like a design decision than a hard engine limitation. Unless it’s because of consoles.

I wouldn't know really cuz im not on pc yet but the old console version had ground farming but tbh I could do with or without it. Other biomes tho I would kill for but that's besides the point
