v16 player new to 17, servers wont start

You just need to wait.
Depending on the speed of your internet connection, distance to the server, size of the map, and power of your PC, it can take a couple of minutes to connect to a new server. Connections after that first one are a lot faster.
Like for my 16k map test, the first connection takes almost 17 minutes. Afterwards it's only about 2 minutes.
Most 8k maps take about 5-8 minutes on that first connection, and only about 40 seconds afterwards.
