This Would Greatly Improve Immersion in 7 Days to Die

Hello The Fun Pimps Team,

First of all, thank you for all the hard work and dedication you have put into 7 Days to Die over the years. It has become one of my favorite survival games, and it's amazing to see how much the game has evolved.

I would like to share a suggestion that I believe could greatly improve immersion and make the gameplay experience even more engaging.

One thing that many players would love to see is more interaction and movement animations, both in first-person and third-person view. At the moment, most interactions happen instantly without any visible character movement. While this works well for gameplay, adding optional animations could make the world feel much more alive and immersive.

Some examples:

* Looting and searching container animations.
* Item pickup animations.
* Crafting and cooking animations.
* Climbing ladders with visible hand movement.
* Vaulting over fences and obstacles.
* Grabbing ledges when jumping onto rooftops or higher blocks.
* More interaction animations for workstations and tools.
* More detailed character movement animations in both first-person and third-person view.
* Improved jumping, landing, climbing, and traversal animations.
* Smoother transitions between different player actions.

These may seem like small details, but often it is the small details that make a game feel truly immersive. Better animations would not only improve the experience for the player in first-person view, but would also make characters look more natural and believable in third-person view and multiplayer sessions.

7 Days to Die already has an incredible survival, building, and exploration experience. Adding more physical interaction between the player and the environment could take immersion to another level and make everyday actions feel more meaningful.

Of course, I understand that development priorities, technical limitations, and available resources must always be considered. This is simply a suggestion from a player who loves the game and wants to see it continue to grow and improve.

Thank you again for creating such a unique and enjoyable game. I am excited to see what the future holds for 7 Days to Die.

With respect and appreciation,

A longtime fan of 7 Days to Die ❤️

Crafting/cooking animations would force you to stay at the station while crafting.

Climbing animations would conflict with fighting/shooting/building while climbing.

Grabbing ledges would require a complete overhaul of of jumping/climbing is done.

I think urination and bowel movement animations are also needed to help with immersion. You should have animations for when I sit down on a toilet, poop, wipe my butt, and flush the toilet. If I'm not near a toilet and just out in the woods, there should be animations showing me removing a shovel from my backpack, digging a small hole, and covering up my poop. I should also be able to visually inspect my poop for any strange colors or textures that might indicate an illness.

Also, vehicles should have working systems that need maintenance and repair. There should be a removable spare tire and when I get a flat, show all the animations of me retrieving my spare and mounting it, or else the game just isn't very immersive. Penalize players who don't check their oil, transmission fluid, and coolant levels at least once a week. Let us remove dipsticks and wipe them off with a rag then reinsert them and check fluid levels on the dipstick. It's the only way to make the game feel real.

Also, when I pick up my 4x4 pickup and place it in my backpack, please use stop-motion captured animations to make me putting a truck in my backpack look more realistic. Thanks

I understand your point, but animations do not necessarily have to slow down gameplay. They can be optional, shortened, or even skippable, depending on the situation.

There are many games that use interaction animations to increase immersion without making the gameplay feel tedious. A good example is Escape from Tarkov, where looting, healing, and weapon handling animations make actions feel more meaningful and connected to the world.

In a survival game like 7 Days to Die, immersion is a very important part of the experience. Small details such as loot animations, climbing animations, improved movement transitions, or more interactive first-person actions can make the world feel more alive and believable.

Of course, not every action needs a long animation, and gameplay should always come first. I simply believe that carefully designed animations could enhance immersion while still keeping the game fun and responsive.

Fair points.

However, I don't think crafting or cooking animations necessarily require the player to remain at the station. The animations could simply play when the action starts, or be made optional and skippable.

As for climbing and ledge-grabbing, I agree that this would require extra work and changes to existing systems. My suggestion wasn't that these features would be easy to implement, but rather that they could significantly enhance immersion and character movement if they were ever considered in the future.

Many games have shown that well-designed interaction and movement animations can greatly strengthen the player's connection to the world without sacrificing gameplay. In a survival game like *7 Days to Die*, I believe such immersion can be just as valuable as new content or mechanics.
