But it makes very little sense, except as the result of an unthinking RNG. I randomly generated a map recently with no cities and few wilderness POIs, which isn't a big surprise. As an aside, I find it very difficult to surprise myself... anyone else have this problem? Anyway, within this map there was a dead end path (not a road, but a path) and it had a gas station at the end of it. Very odd. Neither pump had gas which was also kind of surprising.
