First and foremost the game NEEDS more than 4 player support online I personally play with a 16 man group.

So 32 player support would be dope even if I have to pay for a server.

Many of my friends haven't bought the game simply because of 4 player limits.

Save files space allocations being limited too 2 saves unless you archive files. Chunk persistence is the only half fix for this... I don't understand why I like having multiple worlds with different people.

Overall I own this game on both pc and console and love it and want to see these 2 things sooner than later.

Once crossplay is a thing and console players can use PC dedicated servers that might be possible. But no way a console can host a server for that many people. If you own the game on PC I would just play on PC. Why gimp yourself? Lol.

Max supported player count is 8 for the PC. The consoles won't be going higher than theat. They don't have the hardware for it.

Even with high-end hardware, the game client is not capable of supporting this. This isn't CoD. This is a fully 3D Voxel game that requires a lot of CPU power, and fast access to RAM and storage. There are limits on how quickly that data can be processed, and it is simply not possible to keep up with that many players on a server at once.

A thread on this already exists, and there is no need for another.

I place the blame on this to Sony and Microsoft. There is already another thread on this subject as well.
