The server does not appear.

My friend has the steam version of the game. I have the Microsoft Store (Pc) version of the game.

The version of both of us is V1.3 (b9).

My friend is setting up a server in the European region where everyone can participate, password-protected and other settings are default. When my friend enters the server and starts playing, 5-10 minutes later, when I look, the server does not appear to me.

In the same way that I set up a server, he can't see my server either.

We checked the server settings more than once in case there might be a filter or setting problem. There is no such problem.

About 7-8 months ago, we could play under the same conditions. The only thing we are doing is updating the game.

What could be our problem? And how can we fix it?

Thanks.

Did you open and forward the ports on your router like listed in the above link?

Are (relatively) new serverconfig options like "Region" and "Language" defined in your serverconfig?

Where can I find the server config file?
We did not try to open the port and redirect, we could enter without opening the port in this way before.
We are creating the server as a local game setup, not as a dedicated server.

Port forwarding prevents your router(s) from having to "think" about where the data stream is sent to back/forth. It may work, it may not, it may work now and not later, it depends. Doing it for the host of the server (server machine) ensures that it's always directed to the proper place.

Ok, then you can ignore what I said about the serverconfig file. Still, as Jugginator said, opening up the ports could help because a different (and less complicated) network protocol can be used to connect server and client.

Yeah, even on my... battlestation setup for work, all of my test machines/consoles are on one switch in my office, if I don't port forward for the host it usually results in the game defaulting to Steam Networking which isn't very good. I have ports forwarded for each rig, for example, 26900 - 26902 is for my main rig, 26970 - 26972 is for my secondary rig, and i just use 26900 for games hosted on my main, 26970 for my secondary.

Yeah the server uses 3 ports. Range of selected port + 2 UDP, and base selected port TCP. You can use the 27015 range, but quite a bit of Steam services use it, so I tend not to use it.

Port forwarding did not work. I think there's a problem with my friend's internet provider. We bought the game to my friend via XBOX and the problem was solved. Thanks.
