(The Infamous) Bear & Dog Horde

Day 14 8:32 a.m. in game. I'm putting some wood spikes around the bottom of my base, (the Working Stiffs Superstore) in preparation for the blood moon. Suddenly from behind a zombie dog attacks. I turn around to see 4 more dogs and a zombie bear. After running around like a chicken with my head cut off I managed to kill one dog and died on top of may base.
Crap your pants moment x 10.
 
I'm conditioned. Anytime I hear the dogs barking, I instantly find a high spot to jump to. Then I figure out if it was a single zombie dog or that god forsaken dog horde that always seems to catch me while I am trying to loot a POI

There was no chance they all spawned right behind me. It was like if the mafia came to collect on an unpaid debt. I swear I heard no barking, no collar jingle, like they tiptoed up behind me.
 
The last time that happened to me I was in the second floor of the hoarders house. I heard a lot of dogs and climbed up on the roof. They managed to get to me anyway but it was one at a time so I was able to deal with them and then I just shot at the bear until it died. Seems to me if the dogs could get up there at me the bear could too.

Nope, there is something off with the different stair combo colliders, and the big animals
climb angle. An easy way to see the differences is, as slowly as possible walk down different
stairs, mainly the narrow ones. Some it allows you to go smoothly, some it makes you jump,
jumping down to the escalator in the hospital I always land on top. But I can walk up in
between the rails. Even in different mods, like Foresaken trail, and Rebirth any big animal
had trouble with stairs. I guess all stairs are not created equally.
 
Well F my luck. I just got jumped by a dire wolf horde on day 24. ::sad trombone::

My character also ran back to get his backpack barefoot.

I just had that horde surprise me while I was on a quest. Suddenly I had three zombie dogs attacks me. After finishing them I saw one more not far away and a zombie bear! I quickly jumped on top of a shed (thank you Agility) and considered whether to start shooting at the bear, and risk attracting it, or not, but then it disappeared.
