The game crashes before the start screen.

For some time now, even before version 2.0, whenever I try to launch the game, the Easy Anti-Cheat screen appears, and before the game even starts, it crashes. I’ve tried verifying the files on Steam, I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the game, I’ve formatted my PC, I’ve tried everything, and nothing works.
 
Reproduction Steps

I'm thinking two possibilities here.

1. You don't have valid GPU drivers. Which can be common after a Windows roll-up patch.
2. The space in your "user" for Windows is causing a problem. Windows traditionally has an issue with spaces in the name of that folder, and it will possibly cause an issue for any program referencing it that is not expecting there to be spaces there.

To test if it is #2, create a new user account. If you do it the way Microsoft wants you to, the user folder will contain only the first five characters of the email for the MS account. If you choose to create it as a local account, then ensure you are not using any spaces or special characters.

Hello, thank you for reporting, according to the pastbin you provided, it sounds like you might have additional logs located at
C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\logs\output_log_client__2025-06-23__16-09-02.txt
(Replace "<your user>" with your windows user)
Would you be able to provide the contents of that as well?

There are only two versions like that, and it isn't because of Microsoft's choice, it is because of the EU forcing regulations on them.
