Hello survivors, developers and dreamers,
I am LUKI PROX, a passionate 7 Days to Die player for over 11 years. I first discovered the game back in Alpha 15 on PS4, and later experienced it all over again on PC, where I truly appreciated the depth, complexity, and evolving vision of the game.
After spending over 1375 hours on 7 Days to Die PC, I’ve come to appreciate the depth of its systems. However, I believe there's still an untapped potential: the aquatic and tropical world.
This post summarizes a comprehensive vision that I would love to see as a major update - ideally as a summer expansion. It aims to expand the game’s environmental, exploratory, and POI (Point of Interest) dimensions like never before.

Item List for the Tropical & Underwater Update – 7DTD Style
1. New Tropical Biome & Island Generation
7DTD has explored forests, deserts, snow and wastelands, but no tropical biomes yet. Let’s change that.
Features:
- Generation of small-to-medium tropical islands with lush vegetation, palm trees, sandy shores, waterfalls, and caves.
- Boat travel added as a new vehicle class (basic raft → motorboat).
- Unique abandoned villages overtaken by nature.
- Ancient temples as rare POIs, with hidden chambers and secrets to uncover.
- Environmental storytelling using nature reclaiming civilization.
2. Temples & Trap-Focused POIs
Introduce historically-inspired POIs and elevate exploration with puzzle and trap mechanics:- Temples or ancient ruins with a system of traps and pressure plates:
- Dart launchers
- Flame traps
- Blade traps
- Spike floors triggered by weight or timers
- New quest types offered by traders:
- Treasure recovery
- Artifact retrieval
- Temple clearing missions
3. Underwater Exploration and Survival
For the first time, offer true underwater gameplay:Equipment:
- Diving mask + scuba gear (with oxygen tanks)
- Fins as modifiable footwear for faster swimming
- Flashlight attachment for underwater vision
Points of Interest:
- Sunken ships (cargo, cruise, military submarines)
- Abandoned oil platforms
- Underwater caves with air pockets and rare loot
- Ports and docks near major coastal cities
Enemies & Wildlife:
- Sharks, crabs, infected marine creatures, possibly mutated humanoid sea zombies
4. Submarines & Harpoon Weapons
- Craftable submarine for underwater travel and mobile storage
- Harpoon gun as a new weapon class, usable both underwater and above
- Oxygen-based gameplay: players manage air supply, risk drowning, or suffer debuffs underwater
5. Surface & Submerged Caves with Rare Minerals
- Add rare mineral veins deep in new cave systems
- Caves house hostile enemies or unique resources (used in high-tier crafting or upgrades)
- Some cave systems only accessible through underwater entrances
