PC Spotlights

What's the best place for spotlights? I have some on top of a wall but there are bars on the other side to walk on... The spotlight is at the 7th block off the ground and it just doesn't seem to do much for me at night... Any suggestions or pictures would be great... Ty fellow slayers

 
no more than 3 meters up if you can help it. any higher and become increasingly ineffective.

Yes this is true.

I normally put my spotlights on top of two wooden frames (from ground level). The flashlights that you can carry around and/or attach to your gun's are SIGNIFICANTLY brighter!

Strange that isn't it...

 
I have mine 4 blocks off the ground i believe, theyre pretty effective at lighting the ground under them i feel
