My wife and I are attempting to evolve our 7D2D YouTube content in a more cinematic way, rather than typical "let's play" style videos, that are all too common. Objectively, I like to think we've done alright so far, but I want to take it to the next level.
We have a 3rd account/computer, and have played around a bit with 3rd person perspectives, but that's difficult to accomplish and maintain "natural" gameplay without pausing zombies, moving the "camera man", then resuming without any awkward transitions.
TLDR; what we are looking for is an unmanned "spectator mode" mod, where a player can "attach" themselves to a player (expand: maybe include any entity such as a zombie), go invisible, and auto-follow that entity in a smooth motion to allow recording various angles without excessive maintenance, and getting caught in the shot.
While this is a request, I am also a programmer and would be more than happy to do the work myself under some tutelage. I have only begun to pick apart the modding progress. I made a few trivial XML edits for our purposes (made it so a common item, like a bandage, hides your hands so you can do recordings/screencaps without your hands showing), but when it comes to games systems and interacting with them, I'm unsure of where to start. (How do you expose the framework, etc) I am versed in C#, though I mostly do PHP/Javascript/SQL for a living.
I'd appreciate any assistance someone could offer, or confirmation this is beyond the tools provided to modders. Thanks!
