PC SP modding and MP servers

Quick question: Will mods installed on my end affect my connection to a server with different mods? I have a server my friends and I play on which only has 2 small QOL mods installed, but I'd like to play around with some bigger mods in single player. Will I have to uninstall my mods every time we want to play online or can I just leave them and not have any issues?

 
I don't think it's a problem playing on a server when you have local mods installed. The mod folder from the server is used.

 
Xmls push from a server, so if you're only using XML mods on your local machine you'll be fine.

If you have dll mods and are on a server that only pushes XML you may have problems.
