So there is a Very large range of mountains in the snow area, is there anything up there I am missing? traveled all around it and do not see anything

There aren't any unique areas in this game. You'll never really miss anything. In most cases, there will not be any POI or towns on mountains, though you might see some occasionally and they'll usually have roads leading to them. Otherwise, they are just terrain. And those POI aren't unique anyhow.
