PC Smaller maps coming with A17 at the same time we get vehicles?

That doesn't make much sense to me. Can someone make sense of that for me? Because the RNG map seeds are being shrunk from 10km to 8km and its coming during the time in which more vehicles are being added to the game.

One of the biggest gripes for vehicles WAS the map size and being able to get around the map a lot easier/faster.

Doesn't this map shrinkage kind of defeat the purpose of adding vehicles now? Why not keep the maps the same size they always were?

 
RWG maps are supposed to be more dense and also pre-generated so that they load a lot faster. My understanding is that is the reason for "smaller maps", nothing to do with vehicles.

Also, the jeep destroys lootable objects, so it's fail from the first time you get one.
