Windows Since 2.2 Zombies, players and animals rubber band like crazy

Everything worked fine on my friends server since 1.0, but since 2.2 came out i've been experiencing anything that movies, so zombies, animals and other players rubber banding constantly. They fly through walls and the ground, they will zoom up to me and then snap back to where they started from. The issue is this is just what i'm seeing, as they are hitting me when i cannot see where they actually are. This has rendered the game pretty much unplayable. A single zombie is a massive challenge even in later stages because i am not sure where it actually is at any time. I was hoping the 2.3 patch and a newly generated map would fix the issue but nope.

No one else on the server is experiencing this. I joined some public servers and got the same issue. It does not happen in single player.

I have done multiple full installs, including removing every trace of 7dtd from my computer including removing the registry entry and nothing.

It cannot be simply lag, as my ping hovers in the 20s, and interacting with containers and getting on and off a bike do not experience any lag, nor does talking to traders.

I have searched around and i found some old alpha players had a similar problem and they solved it by turning of dsync, this did nothing for me. I have tried running it with all settings at minimum, i've tried running it without anything running in the background, including Windows Defender. There are no mods installed. The only change between when were running 2.1 and 2.2 was nvidia updated the drivers for my video card so I rolled that back but that didn't change anything

My PC is more than up to running the game
i5 10600k, 32 gigs of ram, Geforce RTX 3060 running 7dtd off an SSD. My internet is 5ghz wifi but again, it was running fine until the 2.2 patch was released. And just to head this off, getting a wired connection is not possible with my current living situation.

I am desprate. No one else seems to have this issue but its so hyper specific it must be something simple, like a single setting that needs to be changed. I hope someone here can at least point me in the right direction.

Just curious... In Options / Video / Display, what are your settings for Upscaler Mode and Upscaler Preset?
Also, the latest Nvidia drivers seems fine compared to some of the older ones (which had all kind of problems for a while).

Also, you and your friend should both test your internet speed to make sure it's all up to par.

I'm not an expert, but hopefully that might put you on the right track.

I leave them at default, so
Upscaler mode is at FSR 3
Upscaler Preset is set at Balanced.

I've added a clip of whats been happening

its not as extreme as other examples and lacks the tearing i get, but hopefully it gives better ideas.

You have an Nvidia card so maybe try DLSS and Balance. See if anything changes.

Gave this a try, no change. I tried logging into the other wifi channels i have, maybe running it on the 2.4 over the 5ghz and no change.

WiFi? 2.4 does better with distance and penetrating through objects, but I'd go wired for gaming if you have the option. Myself, I always wire the important stuff if I can.

Normally I'd associate rubber-banding with network delays, but you're not having other delays. That's wild. I'm curious what this turns out to be.

He already mentioned that a wired connection is not possible at the moment.

You stated that you have constant 20ms pings

Have you tried Tracert command to see if there is a potential intermittent
bottleneck on your hops.

The next is and I don't know if this would apply to gaming servers, but on
your side you can check, passthrough port. To see of additional checks are
being done.

Also since it is locally to you, try unplugging you router for approx 15
minutes at most and 6 or 7 at the least. Then plug it back in. At the same
time turn off your computer. Cache cleanse

Let the router and or switch fully reboot first, then turn on the pc.
Go to cmd prompt and type Ipconfig release all hit enter
Then type Ipconfig renew.

This should help clear your local wifi cache should there be a packet transport
problem local to you.

check your available free space. If that's ok disregard.

These are things that I do for myself when I have slow downs. I have a fast download
speed. But I reboot my ISP hardware at least once a month because I do terabytes of
throughput sometimes, and the cache does not always purge.

This will help you troubleshoot, it is either local, transport, or end node.
Unless the server has an additional set of checks that it is doing to your packets.

Hope this may help.

I did all this, the trascert showed a few timed out, but that is normal for the middle of the day, but most of the connections connected at <100 ms which means i have a good connection.

As my roommates were at work, i was able to reset the router without bothering them, then i did the ipconfig /release and /renew and when i logged in i instantly was killed by a feral soldier but he was moving correctly. I ran behind a car and he went around it rather than through it.

Thanks a ton! Now i can figure out how i can do the int/fort build i'm thinking of.
