A comment by Unamelable elsewhere reminded me of this...
Something I've thought about is a UI game option to let players add a number (0, 1, 2...) to the "ShowQuestClearCount" setting found in each POI's XML. That is, if the option were set to "2" then 2 would be added to each POI's ShowQuestClearCount value when a clear mission was started. The result would be the hint dots (gold dots) would be shown when there were X+2 (instead of X) zombie volumes left to be cleared.
This could be appealing for two reasons:
1. Some players want an easier time with quests.
2. Sometimes there's a POI where the existing ShowQuestClearCount is perhaps 1 or 2 too low and the players are having a hard time finding the last of the zombies.
I suppose #2 is perhaps more of a reason to have something dynamic, like for every 30 minutes spent on a clear quest, the ShowQuestClearCount goes up by 1.
