Should Vehicle mods and weapon mods be unlocked through challenges?

Had a idea about unlocking weapon and vehicle mods through challenges.
Vehicles
-drive 100 kms and get the Super Charger Mod
-Refil 20000 Gas to get the Fuel Tank
-Drive 1 hour at night to get the Headlights
-Kill 50 Zombies with vehicles to get plow mod
-Use 10 Repair kits to get armor mod
-Craft 3 Vehicles to get Fuel Saver mod

Guns
-Scopes2x,4x,8x 20,40,80 headshot Rifle Kills
-Barrel extender 100 ranged kills
-Rad Remover kill 100 radiated zombies

etc etc, could go on but i think this would be cool and would love to get rid of the rng of some of the unlocks.
 
People already complain that the game is too much on rails (too linear) compared to the past where you could get things in a now random order because you had to find the schematics instead of using magazines. Removing more schematics from that randomization doesn't sound like a good idea. I think it is good to have things be randomly found so the game isn't the exact same each time.

I wouldn't mind having vehicle challenges. Just not for the mods.
 
Maybe as an additional way to unlock them? Maybe? But the only way? No thanks. Imagine wanting the super charger mod, and being at like ~25km traveled and having to mindlessly travel another 75km... Even if you lowered the distance you needed to travel, I just can't imagine if that was the only way to get it that would be enjoyable, especially across multiple playthroughs.

I kinda like the idea for the Rad Remover one, but again, not as the only way to get it.
