Shopping carts and such for looting

I don't remember if and how many times that was proposed.. but gettin' some insults can't be that bad :)

What about a shopping cart (or push cart etc..) used like a moving container? (like othe vehicles, but with stamina consumed etc..)

it can be "attached" to the player, disabling all actions except "looting"

looting in that mode throws things directly in the cart instead the inventory.

dis-attacching leaves the item in the current position and re-enables normal player actions. (nothing more than a full minibike without a gear)

it can be useful even just to "collect" all goods from a poi and leave the cart ready out of the main building, ready to be collected the next day(if inventory is full).

even leave it at the entrance of an ore mine or any resource-full location can be good (crops? factory?).

thx tfp for the great work and gl for the release!

bye!

i liked the idea... but now that we have 3 different vehicles and one "i guess ill fly on hordenight" construct, I do not think that a shoppingcart would be all that useful.

A lot to program (when do you let go how does it move over terrain and so on) with very little output (since the car already has a bigger inventory then any shoppingcart)

i wonder how fast you can build/fix/find a car/minibike/anything and how much time you will loot with your inventory only.

it can even be just a sportsbag used for looting.

so you get the bag, use it (player animation got a bag in the hands) and go.

loot mode > filling the bag > night > drop the bag > run

day > come back > get the bag > back or keep looting

just like any zombie film.

no way to abuse it cause you can hold only 1 bag at time.

(maybe you can get empty bags in inventory but, when you fill a bag, drop/death will create an object as when you die)

I can see a lot of useful ways to use that kind of container.

even if not a game programmer i'm a programmer, for sure the loot-only-mode is not code-free but they are implementing really fat and serious stuff.. this is nothing compared to the rest.

I think (just think) that ~70% of existing code can be just reused from implemented features.

if a coder will read that post will hate me for sure..

p.s: sorry for bad english

Just like the walking dead were he has to drop the bag and hide under the tank

but some other guy grabs it later before he returns to get it this would be an intresting feature that I would like. Risk losing all your loot to a strange/ getting all loot when safe.
