Server got knocked offline 13 hours ago...i had it back online in 3 hours.

Ever since then tho it is not showing on server listing or 7 days to die server listings site.

I keeo restarting it again but it says offline to Everyone...but everyone can still join via direct connection.

Is this competition again attacking me because i have a genuinely good server with a brilliant community and i dont charge, cheat or spoof for money like they do?

Ok so ive got to the bottom of it guys. We where attacked by a competitor. We got DDOSed and the Internet was offline for 3 hours. The Internet provider then closed the ports stopping the attack but now until i open the port again, the server will not show in the server listings. Yes its annoying and not much we can do but evil spiteful people exsist.

We have seen a lot of servers copy ours this year. We cant say if its coincidence or not, and we cant go blaming these servers with no proof. But we have a good idea whos doing it.There are a lot of scummy server owners on the 7 days to die game and ive seen a lot of server owners just give up and leave, because the fun pimps just dont care about these criminal servers. I do find it frustrating that they fake player numbers and steal genuine players and ive even seen owners go as far as faking ilnesses on top of this for money. Its disgusting but all we can do is hope integrity prevails

Whether they care or not, they would have to hire a lot of people for a probably insufficient result.

They can't use the law because those servers are distributed all over the world and they would have major problems acting against say a server located in Venezuela. They can't simply close servers on your or anyone's word so they would have to use lots of man power to judge who is doing something wrong. Someone was DDOSing you, how is TFP supposed to check that claim for example and make sure they don't act against the wrong server? What if a few of the bad guys simply call you the copy-cat who DDOS'd them?

So the only thing they could do would be to delist them. Which would mean that those servers would simply relocate to a different IP. Resulting in a game of whack-a-mole. Anyone can rent and set up new servers faster than such a small company can find, evaluate and delist them. Have you ever seen an indie game developer try such a thing? I don't know of any example.

Blizzard did actually act against servers of their game but they are big enough and they could actually act legally against ALL servers simply because they were forbidding servers not under their control in their EULA, so the case was clear.

Also any action against server owners would generate bad blood among all players who had played on those servers and wanted to continue playing on them. Don't expect the "community" would act as one voice here, many would not believe TFP when they say the server owner did something wrong and would suspect some sort of power play here. There would be lots of players critizising TFP for "bullying" independent servers.

Ok amazing. You answered one issue.

But the main issue for me is the fun pimps letting multiplayer rot. For years the SAME servers have been spoofing player count, day count, cheating and charging a fee, bullying and using admin tools on new players for fun.

The same servers who think they have a monopoly on this game, working together to down vote on reddit and knock servers offline.

Its like a criminal enterprise taking out the competitors to protect their finances.

They know my potential and they fear it.

If i owned this game these ctiminal ass servers would be gone in a flash. Why then does the 7 days to die twitter account have time to promote its own devs personal twitch account for financial gaine but not 25 seconds to ban a cheating servers?

Its the same reason they dont pay mods.

The same reason they give out the IP to other studios to make a new game.

The same reason paid DLC is coming.

The same reason old versions of the game are lisenced out

The same reason for merch

The fun pimps want your cash and not your community.

Ive seen countless amazing server owners leave for the same reasons im experiencing.

Ive posted about it multiple times.

Look at DayZ abd how the game exponentially grew just from community servers.

Wtf are they doing... Act no, give multiplayer some love

Just take the scumbags offline. It takes 5 seconds.

when 1.0 came out our server was ddos 3 months straight, finally we found a host that could handle such attacks. What i would recommend to anyone who is getting attacked is chicago server hosting...

they have the best ddos protection for the price.
