server is still initializing please try again later

Restart the server and wait until it finishes starting before you try to connect. If if doesn't finish starting, post that log without the connection attempts.

 
Curious. How did you download the server?  How are you starting it?
It's almost like it's doing something like trying to run the Windows dedi instead of the Linux dedi, or something similar is causing an issue. Maybe file permissions?

 
so I finally got the server working locally and people can see it on the list of servers now... but they cant connect. "could not retrieve server information" ive port fowarded a few ports but the further I search the more ports that "need" to be opened



also you guys are awesome you have proved far more useful than the discord server I was in

 
Default ports you need to have opened.

TCP 26900

UDP 26900-26903
 

I will note that even though port 26903 isn't listed as being used for anything, not having it open often prevents people from connecting. Never have figured out why this is.

8080-8081 are at your discretion. Usually keep them closed unless you manage the server remotely, or have a remote management tool that needs them.

I believe I was helping you in the Discord server the other day, but I got pulled away while assisting. I know both of us are pretty active on the official Discord. (At least the log in the OP looks very similar to one I was working with, and your situation sounds similar as well.)

 
Yeah I am the same person. reinstalling it a 10th time changed something for some reason and its working (sorta). But its 4 in the morning at the moment will check through port settings later
