Self repairing blocks

I though of the idea of having self repairing blocks, and I found THIS THREAD from 7daysguy who already did that, but its very old and all links to the code are dead.

I know little of modding in this game yet. Does anyone knows how to go about this, or saved a copy of that mod so I can check it out and update?
