Remove or Option to turn off 'Spawn Near Bag'

One new feature that was added and I always dislike was the 'Spawn near bag' option, I feel it took the danger out of traveling and dying. I use to love/hate the 'oh ■■■■ I died and live 2 biomes away' even on my server I request no one uses the option but some do some dont. Would love the option to disable it, just to make things harder.

I even attempted to mod the option out but seems to be hard coded.

There's a mod for it on the Nexus called No Respawn Near Backpack by Byteblazar. I use it myself and it works perfectly.
 
A big flat no to removing it. Just because you don't want it in game doesn't mean TFP should remove it for everyone else. I don't mind if they made it as an option that you can toggle, but requesting TFP to remove it just because you don't want it seems a bit much.
 
And risk losing my weapons and tools that I earned/crafted and took a long time to get? Yeah... no. If you don't want to spawn near your bag, then just spawn on your bed instead. If you wanna make things harder, play on nightmare difficulty or permadeath.
