Regarding the Jars

After reading post on the new update and seeing the changes to jars, allow me to pitch my two sense before ya'll inevitably annoy the steam users. The one use Jar mechanic is, I understand, for balance, but so incredibly stupid for a logic standpoint. To add the extra portion now of finding the jars, hoping there is a water hot spot not far and refilling them just to boil the water and only use the jar the one time again, that's so asinine that it's painful.

Before you guys inevitably make the community angry with this useless jar update, allow me to give my two cents and try to save you guys the negative reviews. Firstly, if you’re going to say your survivor is so intelligent they can make batteries and turrets, cook meals, make sham, farm, make steroids and make antibiotics from the workstations they create, don’t say they’re stupid enough to break a glass jar filled with water. That level of disconnect hurts your playerbase. So I have an idea that might help in the form of new craftable items to store water/drinks inside of them. When hit in combat, the container takes a small amount of damage and degrades over time. For balance it takes damage in storms, in collisions in vehicles, with each use, on each refill, just some ideas to allow it to be more ‘balanced’. Each Container can have a mechanic of needing to ‘clean’ it out at a campfire or a Chemistry Bench for it to last longer. Having Mods slots on them as well which I’ll include below.

Tier 1- Plastic Bottle: A universally accepted form of water containment, a bottle unfortunately isn’t ideal as microbacteria can build up on the plastic bottle, it’ll need to be cleansed over uses otherwise can cause Infection or Dysentery.
It doesn’t hold much water, but will have an added benefit of housing other drinks besides water, IE: ‘Goldenrod Tea’. As the durability goes down, it will leak slowly. To balance it out, make it unable to be repaired or repaired by Duct Tape.

Tier 2- Waterskin: A makeshift container of water made using Leather, Plant Fibers, Beeswax, Cloth, Glue/Duct Tape. It leaks water slowly out of it as it degrades over time but holds a decent amount of water. There’s a grace period for it leaking out water as durability levels lower. Repaired with Leather/Cloth/Duct Tape. Acceptable Mods: Charcoal Filter, Medical Lining.

Tier 3- Flask: An Iron container for storing liquids, much tougher and a proper ‘godsend’ in the wastelands. Made with Forged Iron, Scrap Polymer, Leather, Mechanical Parts. Repaired with Repair Kits. Has more durability being made of Forged Iron, and also has a higher threshold for leaking, however, it has a lower capacity for holding liquid. Acceptable Mods: Charcoal Filter, Medical Lining, Water Filtration, Reinforced Lining.

Tier 4- Steel Jug: The proper working man’s container. It has the highest durability and highest capacity. It has a very high resistance to puncture wounds not until it hits the lower 15% of durability. Made with Forged Steel, Scrap Polymer, Mechanical Parts. Repaired with Repair Kits. Acceptable Mods: Charcoal Filter, Medical Lining, Water Filtration, Reinforced Lining.

Charcoal Filter: Assisting in purifying water, it reduces the chance of getting dysentery from repeated uses meaning you can fill the container up longer before needing to be purified.

Medical Lining: For use of gathering the small bacteria that grows in the zombie plague. This medical mesh assists in lowering infection chances from drinking from compromised containers.

Water Filtration: Allows for the container to be filled with Murky Water and can still be drank from as Purified Water.
Reinforced Lining: In the Apocalypse every hit can break down your water container, with this metal casing, don’t let that be your lifeline to survival being punctured. Increases Durability of the container.

This is all something to think about instead of just ‘break glass jug, haha, water go brrr.’

You could make a new system for storing water as well, a new Drum for storing water. This can also be used to store Gasoline and could allow for quick fill ups or Automated fill ups from the car for those that want to make ‘Pit Stops’. With this new system, it could allow vehicles to have mods to carry containers to do fill ups for water. Or adding ‘Jugs’ to fill with water that doesn’t have a benefit of being cleaned or being able to carry other liquids besides water.

It’s a concept thought, but better than the tedious work being put into single use glass jars.

You can go as far as to also make them be filled with any liquids, such as Herbal Tea or Honey Water. This is all better than 'drink from a jar, smash glass jar out of joy'. The entire reason for all of this is because you guys are working on a mechanic that I don't see anyone actually complaining about, to balance it out, when no one really asked you too, and not giving us the promised Bandits or Story Mode. Before you guys inevitablly ■■■■ the community off even more with this useless balance, for god sake, think and listen to some of us. It's a survival game, your survivor is intelligent enough to make car batteries and automated turrets, but apparently is too stupid to keep a glass jar after drinking out of it? Guys, please, don't be stupid, either do something else if water is that much of an issue or don't make it more tedious and annoy the community even more. If we aren't getting Bandits so later after the roadmap time, at least

Nono, it's great! Please follow the logic and add:
- Empty gas cans for looting cars and pumps etc. 100 gas per.
- Empty gun magazines, to load your bullets in; size varies per gun, might integrate that extended feature for some variance.
- Empty pill bottles, to store your looted antibiotics in!

All single-use, mostly available from the trader of course. What else could we come up with?
