Hello Everyone! Hope things are going good.
I am just wondering if anyone at "TFP" is actually keeping score and 'notes' and such about things asked for in this game. Hopefully not letting all these ideas and suggestions get lost in the archives. Maybe someone even going so far as to do some research into 'other games' as to 'why they did something' or along those lines. Why do many mods have many more guns than vanilla? What are the common features added to mods that vanilla doesn't have? Why? Because we're approaching Beta and ultimately 'it does matter.'
One thing I see a lot in various games is the 'options' for a lot of things and specifically cloths. Things that 'don't matter' in game but can be a 'necessity' for any gamer. Take cloths or 'looks' for example. With my wife its all about 'looks' and for some of our friends whom happen to be lady's. To them and I talked with them about this - the functionality of the item doesn't matter one bit! It doesn't matter one bit! It doesn't matter that they could wear iron armor and have the best stats! It doesn't matter! They want to wear what they see as the 'cutest'/'good looking' outfit they can put together! That... Does Matter! If you look at different games 'you' should see this to be true. To add a bunch of different 'outfits'/'cloths' so the lady gamer's can mix and match their 'post-apocalyptic look of the day' to a degree doesn't matter till the sheer numbers of items start to become a problem. Where that point is for 7 Days to Die I have no clue! For some lady gamer's nothing but 'playing the game' matters! In 'the old days' 'gamer's' where thought to be 'boys' or 'males' mostly. But now a days - an some studies say that since 2010 - about %50 of gamer's are ladies! There are a tonne of factors in everything... As for 'the guys' a lot have posted about more guns... I have said my peace on that. I would like to add that as with the above - the same goes for the guys. Least us not forget the 'hard core' types - whom won't play X game since it doesn't have an X gun, or doesn't have 'enough cloths selection' etc... Sure - those people are probably on the fringe and less than %5 of the games population, but ultimately 'it does matter.'
Now to the bigger picture. Who would have known that on that fateful day of Thanksgiving Dinner in 2012 that 'we'd' be here now - almost 6 years later and getting closer and closer to "The Fun Pimps Dreams." Whom of the 'original TFP' team knew that they'd be 'this far' and soo close to completing their dream?!?
Back in the 1960's my dad handled most if not all of the fenders for the Lunar Rover for the Apollo Program! That are now sitting on the surface of the moon! Did I limit myself to being a Bench Technician? No! If I limited myself I wouldn't be working with one of the Space Shuttles! How's that for a Family Legacy?!? The Fun Pimps shouldn't limit the game nor themselves to 'No! Not going to add x just because you want it and because it doesn't serve a purpose...' Adding clothing options, more guns, other things does server a purpose. Do you know what that purpose is? I shouldn't have to say it now, but its a long lived purpose... A true marketing professional can tell you the value of everything I've said and with experience and professionalism I just don't have. And that purpose is... The Purpose of Serving "Your Customer!" When 'you' serve your customer - you will thrive! Thrive does not equal Survive... Thrive is greater than survive!
Someone noted something to the effect that the [WIP] Starvation Mod was 7 Days to Die: 2, and I totally agree with them on that.
So... Be all you can be! Be the best you can be! Make the game the best it can be! Make the "TFP Dream" Their Best Dream so far!
