I would like to know if there is any way to lower the loaded chunks to increase the fps. Thanks

In the video options menu for quality there is a toggle for view distance. In past alphas this was a number for the number of loaded chunks around you. Now it is simply High (10 chunks I believe) Medium (lower than 10) and Low (even lower). For the minimum number of chunks loaded around the player choose Low for View Distance. It is on the bottom left column of the quality screen for the video options.
