Question on best language for video game cross platform compatibility

As I am getting older I am getting pickier on what I choose to learn.

Is Unity the single language I should learn if I want ultimate cross play compatibility with PSN/XBOX/PC ?

IOS uses its own special language with apple

Android also uses its own thing, but I think Unity might play nice with it.

You do know that you posted this in the 7 Days Blood Moons forum, right?

Unity is not a language. Veterans suggest C++ and C#.

Might want to subscribe to Tim Cain's YouTube channel. Treasure trove for up and coming developers and no one has to pay tuition to attend his classes. Amazing.

Yeah, Unity is just a resource that helps with making games or apps. It is C# for the language, though I think I heard they planned to support C++ at some point, but I may be remembering incorrectly.. Another option is Unreal, which is C++. I personally prefer C#, but I don't do anything with Unity and have only looked at it a small amount. As far as what is better, I think it depends on what you are doing. They each have pros and cons, depending on what you are doing. And they each have different costs. So you really need to see what your goals are and base your decision on that. Ideally, you would know how to use both.
