Question about new Mods section relating to Tools subforum

Okay, so the new Mods section might be helpful for keeping track of mods. But what about threads like the Teragon threads that were in the Mods>Tools forum? Currently, those are in the archive, but that's not a good place for them to remain. But they don't necessarily fit in the new Mod sub-forums. The Teragon Maps thread could go into Discussions & Requests, but the post about Teragon isn't a discussion. But does it really belong as a Mod? It isn't one.

I think we just need to keep the Tools sub-forum and move those posts over instead of having them archived. But if there's some better way to include both those threads, please let me know.

Edit: See additional comments in my post below if you're replying as I've figured a little out since posting.

The idea is that for every mod posted a matching thread will be auto-generated.
I guess it's still not implemented, but should be soon:tm:

Right. But Teragon isn't a mod. I don't know that it belongs in that new Mods area. That's what I'm trying to find out. If it should be in there, that's fine. But I don't want to add it there if that's the wrong place.

Edit: Okay, so I actually went through the initial steps of adding a Mod to the forum and there is a Tools option for it, so maybe that is the correct way to do this. I'll still wait and see if I get an official response before I do that, though.

Edit 2: I also see that there is the ability to be part of a "Team" for Mods so anyone who is part of the team can quickly find the mods from the team. But I don't see how to create or join a team. Any additional info on that would be appreciated. Nevermind, I found it.

I would add it either in tools mod or in maps mod. but don't worry too much about it right now. you can upload now to either and it can be moved afterwards if needed.
categories right now are a WIP and subject to change in the next days/weeks... it used to be much worse a couple of days ago 😄

So are the old threads going to be deleted, or will they still exist as well? I posted a mod in the Resources area and wanted to link to the old thread I use but didn't as I wasn't sure if they will be kept as they are still in the Archived section.

I linked to the Teragon thread. I doubt they'll get removed entirely... at least not anytime soon. There is too much useful information there. Not to mention, it is going to take a long time to get everyone to add the mods to the new Mods section and they aren't going to want to just remove all those mods. I doubt we'll see the archives go away for at least a year, but that's just my guess.

Well, it was more about if they are gonna stay archived. Don't see the point for most mods linking to a locked thread. I get there will new threads auto generated, but not sure how good that is for existing mods with lengthy threads already. Would be fine for new mods posted of course. If we link a thread in the Resource bit maybe it should just use that instead of creating a new one?

Yeah, it would be useful if it could merge the old thread with the new. Maybe moderators will do that when approving the mods?

Hopefully. I am absolutely not wanting yet another thread/site/thing I need to check to keep up with my mods. The simpler, the better. Haha.

I see there's already Released Mod Discussions under the Game Modification section.
Gotta wait and see if it starts populating once the mods start getting approved. mine probably doesn't have one because it was created when things were still under testing.

Yeah, it seems to allow discussions for released mods. But I don't like how it does a minimized version of the description that then takes you to a different page to view it. It almost needs you to leave the description empty in the submission and then make a reply that has the description just to avoid that.
