PC quest area and bedroll

What are the interactions between the two ?

The other day, I started a quest (fetch from trader), then put a bedroll near it, and logged out before finishing the quest. When I came back, I needed to re activate the quest, but could not because of the bedroll.

1) If we activate quest and then log out before finishing, do we need to start all over again (or did that happen because of the bedroll) ?

2) If I place a bedroll after activation, will it work as respawn point ? Will it prevent me from finishing the quest ?

3) Also, what is the size of the reset area ?

1) In my experience that happens without placing a bed roll. In fact, many people have taken to calling it an exploit. You can go through and loot the POI, then start the quest and everything that was empty will be reset (if you leave 4 paper in a container, it seems to reset to UNTOUCHED but leave the same loot in the same spot), and then if you log out before completing you will need to restart. Not sure if that includes 'Talk to trader' or the main Clear/Fetch objective.

I'm not sure about the other questions, but I would like to add

3b) Does the reset area reach to bedrock, or simply within a certain radius from the POI?
