I have a question on what version of unity is 7DTD is based on?

I would like to make a mode and unity keeps asking me to upgrade, and wondered if you upgrade that can you still make mods if you only use the same functions as the old version.

 
Cheers mate. Do you also know of any links to what hooks etc the 7DTD team use within Unity?, as most models I use have errors of no parameters filled etc for gun reload animation etc. Thanks in advance. Ive looked in mods and watched many videos but for the life of me nothing works. Using Unity 2018.2.3
