PS PS5 Game Lag, Especially on Horde Night

Me and my 2 friends play on the PS5 and the game can get a bit laggy when we are in our base. I'm guessing it's the forges (fire / smoke particles). But it gets really bad on horde night. Trying to shoot zombies from our horde base is almost impossible (different to our main base) (which is only a bunch of concrete squares, blade traps & a few turrets). I'm guessing we're getting 15-20 fps on horde night making it very difficult to even aim to shoot the zombies. All the server settings are default.

Optimization is needed, especially for the console versions. I know a tiny bit about game development and that many AI driven characters needs to use Unity's Burst complier with DOTS (if it's still used). I'm assuming your still using Unity Engine. :)

Loving the game other then the terrible lag we get.

Lower the zombie spawn amounts. Consoles can handle no more than 30 spawned zombies

You may have too much going on at both bases, I build one base that is for blood moons and doing our normal everyday things, I have the count set to 20 on blood moons and never have any problems on our PS5's, I purposely keep things to a minimum to prevent any kinds of problems. For example, 1 forge, 1 campfire, maybe 2 work benches, 1 cement mixer, and 1 chemistry workbench. I never have had any lag issues or anything with my setups.

It's 30 zombies max on Horde Night for all platforms, including PC. Even if you set to 64 zombies in the settings, you get 30 max alive, but the game stage increases to compensate for the lower zombies amount showing.

From @faatal (Dec. 2024, around V1.2 - 1.3):

"Bloodmoon parties (which is now players within 80m of any other player added to the party) now cap the amount of enemies spawned at one time to 30 (subject to change) to improve FPS. An 8 player group with the default setting of 8 per player, would have gotten 64 active enemies. To compensate for less enemies, the game stage increases based on the ratio. The game has global enemy caps and game stage maxAlive caps, but this helps with the specific case of FPS tanking during blood moons for a BM party."
