PC PreGen8K has no desert?

So I've been riding around PreGen8K for two game days looking for the desert. (need gas) I found the snow and waste biome but no desert. So I got frustrated and went online and looked it up, the map PreGen 8K. There in the southern part it showed the desert biome. My character has been there and there was no desert. Just waste land. What's going on? Help?

Which alpha version map did you look at? In A21 the desert on the Pregen8k map is to the west. It's wasteland in the south.

You can see the pregen worlds under your game files, mine are:

SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/7 Days To Die/Data/Worlds/PREGEN8k

In there, biomes.png shows the biomes.

Also, debug mode (console 'dm') has additional options in the in-game map, you can reveal all sorts of things with that, including biomes iirc.
