i havent played in a while and loaded the game and it says this is a pre release version see this page support for info. What does this mean? do i need to do something to play? it loads the game and i get to the trader challange and it says no trader and theres no icon to find the trader. whats up with this?

It means the game is not finished yet.
Next big update could break saves. Will change gameplay features. You are still playing a game in development.
As for the no trader, sounds like you made a custom RWG map and there isn't a trader in the forest. Something that you are warned about when you are making an RWG map.
Without following the Pinned instructions to report an issue and providing a link to a published log file from when you have the issue, I'm just guessing though. Threads are Pinned for a reason.
