Please make it so Perk Books use the new progression system as the skill magazines

I'm honestly losing it. I feel like I'm playing a gambling game each time I check a bookstore or a trader every in-game day for a chance for one of the book volumes I'm missing to show up. In fact, I started to think that maybe the volume 3 of Wasteland Treasures was somehow disabled, so I started accumulating the other volumes I already got. But people are getting it without issues. I do love the new progression system, but I do wonder why we still use the old system for the Perk Books. Could we make it so that reading one book of one series unlocks the first to last, or a random one instead of needing to read the specific Skill Book Volume? If it would be a problem by making it too easy, maybe increase it so instead of seven, it goes to 14 or 21 books. Please, I beg you. I really don't want to say how many hours I spent since the new update trying to get the ONE book I actually wanted. It is painful.
If you have better ideas, please do share them, also apologies, english is not my first language.

Apologies for replying to my own post. I wanted to edit it, but I think it's not letting me. Something I forgot to mention is that while the number of attempts in the image is 56, we did get one of the volume 3 book inside the same world we are playing in. My friend read the first one, we just needed to get a second one, and I wanted to update, that I finally got the book. Sorry if I misled some people.

I think I like having the distinction between the two book types, but agree that it can be frustrating when you are unable to find the one volume that you're missing or that is actually useful.

I think a different solution would be a hybrid of the two systems. Basically, while the new crafting magazines have some amount of RNG (random chance) of appearing in the world, their chance of appearing does increase based on what you choose to put points into. Want to find more machine gun crafting books? Put points into machine gunner. Also, as soon as you max out a particular magazine series, you will no longer find any magazines of that series.

They could apply a similar logic to the chance of finding unread books. Maybe after the player has read a certain amount of books in a series, the chances of finding the other volumes increases slightly, for example, let's say you have read volumes 1-5 of the needle and thread books. Since you've read the majority in the series, the game now gives a slightly increased chance in finding the other volumes. I think that would go a long way to removing some frustration.

Both ideas sound good! The hybrid one would increase RNG for both magazines and books. It makes sense that the player who spent skill points on a category should have an increased chance of finding a book related to that category.

The second idea sounds like the game is being more merciful to the player, which is good when the RNG can vary highly from player to player. The only problem I found is that this could be a bit hard for the devs to implement this feature, since it would require calculating which books were found in each volume of each category, then increasing the chance of finding the ones that haven't been found based on how many were found. But I could be wrong.

To be honest, i am very happt with the perk books and i wished hardly if skill books could also be more lucky and do not follow the same straight path every time. The new skill book system is better for progression than the way it works in A20, but a bit more randomness within the tiers would give the skill system back a bit of exciting. It would be nice if players is forced to take a look at the book to find out what he learned at least. Also: It would definitely be nice if 1 or 2 skills would miss out on each tier in every run for a more unique experience.
