Player computer crashed hard, now he needs to get back onto the server

Its a bit confusing on what 'we' need to do. One of my players has had his brand new shiny comp crash hard on him. Luckily he's taken my advise and got the extended warranty. Anyway he's ready to install the game but we're wondering if he'll be okay to login and play where he was last week, or do I need to send him some files from the server?
