Iآ’ll say Iآ’m not a fan of some changes implemented, and Iآ’ll never play A18 while they exist.
- Why is a bow and arrow so flipping useless??? I literally put 25 arrows into the side of a boar while standing on the wall of the Trader, and it still wasnآ’t dead. At that point I was like, WTF is it going to take to kill this thing??? So I clipped over and it still took several more hits with an iron axe and at least three more knife attacks to kill. It would also take ~6 arrows to kill one zombie, while you can punch a zombie and kill it in 3 punches. This makes absolutely no sense. I was even able to harvest about 15 of my arrows out of the boars side after killing it.
- The recipe change is stupid. I canآ’t even cook food without finding a recipe. Like, I have a pile of meat and eggs, and somehow I donآ’t know how to cook it. Youآ’re telling me that I have super human strength and can punch a zombie to death, but also have no knowledge on how to make any food. How did this person become a fully grown adult without knowing how to make food??? I could understand needing to get a schematic for something you build, like a vehicle, crafting benches, dart traps, electric fences, etc, but adding all food into that equation makes no sense. What next, are you going to require a recipe to make a wood frame and plant fiber clothes? Heck, even that would make more sense than food. Or, at least make the basic stuff accessible without recipes, like bacon and eggs, or boiling an egg/meat, etc.
As long as the recipe hurdle exists, and the senseless nerf of bows is in the game (I didnآ’t even try another weapon because this is sooo bad), Iآ’ll pass on A18. I also watched videos of the demolisher, and like others, think that is making the game worse. Itآ’s almost like youآ’re trying too hard to make some things آ“real lifeآ” realistic, while other things are so far from reality that itآ’s clearly fiction. Pick your poison. You canآ’t have both.
