Pistons and Sticky Pistons?

Is this possible? My little brother was playing minecraft and has said that pistons in that game started off as a mod. It's crazy because that opened up the possibilities for that game times a million.

Pistons should be possible. Basically, it would be like a vanilla elevator made smaller and placed sideways if I'm understanding how the Minecraft version worked. So a simple model and animation made in Unity and using the vanilla elevator xml should kinda work as described. Sticky would likely need custom code.

This is a cool little video demonstrating how they work. This would be game changing if this game could do it.
