I read that honking our vehicle horn will open trader doors, and I had that mod, so took it out and restarted, wouldn't work, so then I cleared my dl files from steam, then I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, still won't work. Not sure what I am doing wrong...

I'm not sure where you got that from but vanilla 7 Days to Die presently doesn't have this option in 2.3 Exp.

Perhaps from V2.3 patch notes, though it does not specify trader doors. There has been no further detail provided AFAIK

HonkEvent for vehicles to allow game events to fire based on honking the horn.

It's a mod that does it currently, I don't think they added the ability to open doors with a honk in the base game

It just added the ability for honking the horn to fire a game event. That's it. Not sure if TFP have any plans for it, or if it was more for modders.
