PC Option for turning off enrage on hit.

The "enrage on damage" mechanic is very annoying. All it really accomplishes are cheap hits that you really cannot avoid sometimes, and I do not feel it adds anything worthwhile to the gameplay.

Can we at least get an option to turn that off? I'm guessing someone will put together a mod to be able to turn it off eventually (if it's possible).

Not to pick on this idea specifically (although I don't agree and it has been less than 24 hours, maybe you should give it an honest chance) but the whole "I need a slider for every single option in the entire game" thing is getting out of control.

Not that I disagree with you, but you have to realize a great many people do not like or enjoy the idea of running (world war z) zombies. Myself included. That being said, I don't mind the short sprint adrenaline rush so much because I am actually enjoying the game being difficult again. However, as a general rule of thumb I do not like running zombies, kills my immersion.

You just gotta think that 7 Days Zombies have their own lore..They don't even die in one headshot like what we think of the classic zombie should, and there's not near enough of them to make them that way because the game would be too easy.

A lot of things that 7 Days Zombies uses like feral, special infected, and rage mode are there to help make up for the shortcomings in total zombie counts. Without these 'tricks' the game would just be too easy.

For the slow TWD type zombies - you'd need a hundred times more of them on the screen otherwise there's just no challenge at all.

Like unlike them said: That option already exists.

Set the game to "Scavenger" difficulty.

It adds some excitement as you never know if they going to spring forward at you or not.
That's fine, I just don't like the stumble-forward-at-super-speed enraging.

I have been enjoying the rage mechanic as it makes the player stop back pedaling and forced to turn and run away.

it was never about making player stop backpedaling (players are allowed to their own play style)... it is about adding more danger... i still backpedal and will continue... i have adapted already and enjoy it. for those who rather not have it, the option is there to minimize it or disable it. :)

I like the feature, I think maybe it currently happens a little too often. Clearing out a POI becomes a game of cat and mouse, especially with a couple of zombies getting in the way and accidentally triggering rage mode on both. Could tone down the percentage chance of this happening but keep it in game as it is a nice new challenge!

I believe that Adventurer (Default difficulty) turns off enraged zeds. I don't know as I play on Nomad+ but I believe I read that from MadMole (not cited so correct me if I'm wrong!!)

As of lastnight this is not true. Though I wasn't encountering very many zombies that enraged on default settings, it definitely was happening sometimes.

It gets interesting in POIs where the zombies drop from the ceiling. The fall damage can also trigger the rage.

I find that the spear (without any perks) is boss at dealing with enraged zombies. I don't know why, but it interrupts their attack more than any weapon of similar quality I've used (aside from firearms, because headshot)

While I have died to enraged zombies, I really like it. It makes POIs that much more dangerous and really encourages focusing down one zed at a time, lest you enrage too many and they overwhelm you

Ah, that's what that is. I thought I had activated Richard Pryor mode because I was setting them on fire with the torch.

Didn't know about the slider option! YAY!

I've noticed (on day 2 now) that with the lowest bow - everything becomes enraged... I don't mind the mechanic - its just that everything gets enraged. Deer run off wildly and it looks like they're thrusting their heads forward... That's why I kind think they too get enraged. I know that the boars do - cause you can hear them. So for me I'll just slide it down a bit.

With that aside - being only on day 2 it looks great! It plays pretty good but I have noticed that the zeds are fairly spread out at regular intervals especially near town. Making it harder to sneak around. With most previous builds I didn't see that. Its like its a grid spacing which detracts from game play...

I also have a feeling that noise has become a great factor in that closing an iron hatch from the 2nd floor to the attic drew 3 zeds to me that were at least 40 blocks away. Maybe that needs to be drawn back a bit. Prior to that I walked around normally and that didn't attract them, I jumped up through a hole onto the roof (which was less that the 40 blocks) and sneaked around and that didn't draw them... I opened and closed my secured wooden chest and that didn't draw them. Going down to the 2nd floor and opening and closing doors closer to them than the hatch didn't draw them...

Also - I have experienced the drop in FPS - BUT - while near only one POI it was fine at around 120FPS. Then started to drop the closer I got to town and was seeing more zeds (winter biome). Finally dropping towards 12 FPS while at the edge of town. But it did seem to 'play okay' at the very least - its more of a 'concern' from what I could tell because of the low FPS numbers themselves. Cause it wasn't till late in the day that I remembered to check it.
