A top tier if you will. Big power, but each with its own unique reeeeealy hard to find ammo type.
For rifles, a break action .50BMG ar conversion. You would need to sacrifice an AR to make one. Ammo for this could be found on military POI's or gun stores in smaller amounts
Pistols, a .500 smitty, or a .450 marlin BiggestFattestRevolver. takes a .44 to make? bullets in gun stores or homes.
shotgun a 10guage maybe over under maybe side by side. takes a break action shotty to make. same chances as the biggest revolver.
SMGs should have the 5.7 spitting Z90. takes an mp5 to make and ammo can be found in police stations and military bases.
All of these should be full armor piercing and go through 5 zombies before perks. Hell the BMG should go right through a wood house and blow up a car on the other side.
all but the SMG should do 1 damage to the player but maybe there should be a perk to avoid this.
also add another 9mm smg, tier, lower than the mp5. maybe a mini mac with strong jumpy recoil, or a tec-9 that can overheat and jam. maybe hit reload to unjam.
So that's my main idea, the rest are just solutions for things that kinda bug me a little as a gun guy. I have seen posts suggesting the lever action be a .44. I strongly agree with this. they are way more common and for good reason. the feed tube puts the bullets end to end, and if you use conventional rifle ammo with pointed tips and drop the gun those tips push on the primers and the bullets blow the gun up. also i feel like the pipe machine gun should be a 9 mm, and the pipe rifle should just be one 5-10 round repeater just a little weaker than the AK.
I feel like the shotgun deserves another block or two of range.
the pipe revolver animation is well done on its art, but drives me nuts. you needed it to take longer to reload but you took all of the urgency out of it. fumbling each shell in one at a time would add so much to the feeling of the thing. Also revolver loading should/could be a skill
maybe a new weapons mod called extra lubrication wich would overcome the jamming effect of lesser guns or up the fire rates of better guns I firmly believe guns jamming would be common in the apocolypse and add to the "feeling"
And please how can you pick a combination gun safe but not a DOOOOR!?!?!?!
