Notepad++ conflicts ?

Since I use Notepad ++ it causes strange corruption of my .xml which makes them unusable by the game. I selected this software as the default program for opening .xml files and this generated red text errors , I can no longer load a game.
Did I screw up, are there any precautions I should take while using Notepad ++ and 7 Days to Die?

I use it daily when making my mods and I have no problem, you still moved something in Notepad and that causes problems in the Xml, always make sure to make a backup of the files you modify.
