No / slow progress due to too scarce water

there are plenty of water sources which are sort of useless since you cant collect or boil the mudy water anymore. The dew colletor is useless. early in the game, to farm some 1000 dukes is no fun. 1 collector is not enough to make drinks, food or glue in the beginning. we are playing with 2 ppl atm we tend to just die to fill up food / water.

there needs to be better way to make enough water useable.

(otherwise it will just be "fixed" through mods)

I think you'll get more used to it and realize it isn't an issue pretty quickly.  I find so much murky water in the game that two dew collectors for a 2 person game aren't really needed and put out far less water than what I boil.  You should never have an issue with drinking water after the first day or two - and if you really need to, you can buy it at a trader easily enough.  1500 dukes is only a few quests - I haven't calculated the number but I have over 30k dukes just by my own, not counting what the other person has, after reach tier 3 at one trader, which only took a few days.  Money is hardly an issue.  You can also get the filters as quest rewards so we'll end up adding 2 more "free" dew collectors just because we got those.  We use the water for drinking and food.  No need for glue in our games beyond what we find.  In all the games I played in A20, I never crafted glue.  I sometimes crafted duct tape but never glue.  Always had enough from loot.  But I know people who have greater need of duct tape (usually those using archery) and they'll need more dew collectors to make the amount of glue they are used to making.

One collector (and regular missions and looting) is enough to keep two players alive for over a week in-game, since me and a buddy literally just did that. 

We did find the recipe for Purified Mineral Water very early on and have been using that though, so, uh... without it you might be in trouble? 

We couldn't use water for cooking either, we had to go for bacon and eggs every time, no water used to turn cornmeal into real food.

We also had no water for glue, but we didn't have a beaker until recently anyway. 

As for dukes, that's super easy. Take both people to a trader, pick up one quest each in the same direction, go do both quests together, collect both rewards for both quests for both people (4x quest rewards)

Now pool your cash together. 

You have plenty of Dukes.

Rather than Filters, duct-tape is the bottleneck. 

Edit: Remember that you can just drink dirty water and @%$# yourself for a while. It's not the end of the world. Especially if one of you can make Goldenrod Tea.

Drink the murky water while you are out and about, when you are near it. Top off when you can. Don't fear the poops, it's not that bad and is fairly rare.
