No Quests from traders - how to get them back?

I have just under 4000 hours in 7D2D. I have noticed the traders never offer quests anymore ( It has been a long time). I have tried in the regular game (V 1.4) and now the newest experimental (V2.0 (b289) ). Were they removed or is my game missing something now? I have started 5 new worlds ( random generation) without any quests.

Assistance or information would be greatly appreciated.

Have you completed the starter challenges? When completed and you are told to go to the trader, the trader will have a special buried supplies quest. Only after completing that will you be able to take normal quests. I hope this is something they change at some point because it is pointless and just prevents doing regular quests for no reason.

Also note that if you play a map that want made with RWG, and the trader you go to isn't near the wilderness, it will not give you that intro quest and you will have to go to a different trader to get it.
